The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has been commended by the Executive Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, at the Government House, Maiduguri, for his leadership of the Nigeria Police Force.

ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer FPRO disclosed this in a statement.

In a move to significantly bolster the operational capabilities and improve the welfare of police personnel and other security agencies in Borno State, the IGP commissioned a fleet of new vehicles and housing units.

During the event which hosted the IGP as the special guest of honour, the IGP and the entire police force were commended for their remarkable efforts in the overall security of the country.

The Special Guest of Honour, accompanied by the Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Zulum, distinguished Senators and other dignitaries, also commissioned 110 operational vehicles meant for the Nigeria Police Force and the Armed Forces, as well as 500 motorcycles to enhance the operational mobility of the security operatives and response time to security challenges across the state.

Additionally, 40 newly constructed housing units were commissioned, adding to the 230 units previously allocated to the Nigeria Police Force at the Mai Mala Buni Housing Estate.

Governor Zulum emphasized his administration’s commitment to supporting the police in their mission to secure Borno State.

He highlighted the importance of providing officers with the necessary resources to effectively carry out their duties.

IGP Egbetokun expressed his gratitude for the Borno State Government’s ongoing support and underscored the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to improving security operations and the welfare of its officers.

The IGP noted that the new operational assets would significantly enhance rapid response capabilities, while the housing units would serve as a motivation for officers, boosting their dedication to duty.

The collaborative effort between the Borno State Government and the Nigeria Police Force demonstrates a shared commitment to enhancing security and improving the living conditions of police personnel, ultimately contributing to the safety and well-being of the citizens of Borno State.
