The Action Alliance Party has suspended its Cross Rivers State Chairman, Prince Ekeng Effiom Effiom.

It was gathered that Effiom Effiom was suspended for attempting to withdraw the matter the Party filed against the Cross Rivers State Government in suit number FHC/CA/CS/73/2024 between Action Alliance (AA) Vs INEC and 3 others without approval from the National headquarters of the Party.

The suspension letter was titled: “Letter Of Suspension As Cross Rivers State Chairman Of Action Alliance”.

The letter was co-signed on October 29, 2024 by both the Action Alliance’s National Chairman, Chief Barr. Kenneth Udeze and the party’s National Secretary, Vernimbe A. James.

The suspension letter read: “We write to inform you that the National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Think Tank Committee (NTTC) of Action Alliance has approved your
suspension as a State Chairman of Action Alliance Cross Rivers State Chapter.

“Your suspension is in accordance with Article 31 of the Action Alliance 2005 Constitution as amended and is with effect from 29th October, 2024, you are directed not to act on behalf of Action Alliance in Cross Rivers State.”

The Action Alliance copied the suspension letter to the
Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) (INEC) Cross River State, Chairman, Cross Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission and Commissioner of Police Cross River State Command.

Other authorities copied were the Director, Department of State Services Cross River State Command,
Chairman, Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC) Cross River State and Raymond A. Manga Esq., Counsel to Action Alliance in the said suit.

Meanwhile, the Action Alliance has engaged the legal services of Raymond Manga & Associates, a Calabar-based law firm for the forth coming Local Government Council elections in Cross River State.

The engagement letter dated September 24, 2024, and signed by the party’s National Chairman, Chief Kenneth Udeze and the National Secretary, Vernimbe James read in part:

“Pursuance to our discussions with you in respect of legal services and legal representation to our great party in the forth coming Local Government Council elections in Cross River State, the National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Think Tank Committee (NTTC) of the Action Alliance Party has approved you and your law firm, Raymond Manga & Associates to so represent the party including administrative reviews, regular matters that concerns the party, pre-election matters, post-election matters, election tribunal cases, appeals, and any legal services or representation that involves our party.
