The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) has officially debunked recent claims circulating on social media and various online news platforms regarding the appointment of Yomi Odunuga as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
In a statement issued yesterday and signed by Director of Information and Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen, the OSGF clarified that there has been no such appointment made by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
It emphasized that no confirmation has been given by the Director of Information and Public Relations regarding this matter.
The OSGF further stated that the appointment of Special Advisers at the federal level is exclusively the prerogative of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
In light of the misinformation, the office urged the public and media organizations to disregard the unverified claims, labeling them as attempts by individuals seeking to mislead the public for personal gain.
The OSGF encouraged reliance on verified information that is officially released and signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations.
