On 13/8/2024 at about 20:30 hours, information was received that suspected armed robbers riding in a toyota Corolla 1994 model with registration number, Benue MKD 77 TF picked an unsuspecting passenger from New Nyanya en route Area 1, Abuja, but robbed the passenger of her handbag, iPhone and other valuables and threw their victim out of the moving vehicle.
DSP Ramhan Nansel, the
Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) disclosed this in a statement signed for the Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Shehu Umar Nadada.
Upon receipt of the information, Police operatives attached to New Karu Area Command, in collaboration with public spirited individuals gave the criminals a hot chase and intercepted their vehicle.
Consequently, the duo of John Iorfa 29 years and James Agbo, 37 years all of Makurdi, Benue State were arrested and items earlier robbed from the victim were recovered.
The suspects have made useful statements and effort is ongoing to arrest other members of the syndicate.
