In a sustained onslaught against criminals in Nasarawa State, police operatives attached to Nasarawa Division have arrested four armed robbery suspects and recovered exhibits.
DSP Nansel Ramhan, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) revealed this in a statement signed for the CP, Nasarawa Police Command, Umar Shehu Nadada.
Tha arrest was in reaction to a distress call that was received by the Divisional Police officer, Nasarawa Division, CSP Mohammed Padah that on 26/5/2024 at about 0240hrs, armed hoodlums attacked some student lodges and a Hotel in Gunki area of Nasarawa LGA where they injured two students of Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa and stole cell phones and other items.
Police operatives swiftly raced to the scene and rushed the injured victims to General Hospital, Nasarawa, while the criminals were given a hot chase.
Four suspects were arrested namely: Usman Abdullahi of Sabon Layi Keffi, Abdullahi Mohammed, Ibrahim Musa both males of Angwan Tiv Masaka and Fa’ad Idris of Jahun area of Bauchi State.
One blood stained Knife, one jack Knife, scissors, 8 Apple iPhones, 27 Assorted Android phones of different brands, 2 Laptops, 5 torch lights, 2 MP3 music players, 4 bags, 6 power banks and a cash sum of N298,000 were recovered from the suspects as exhibits.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada has commended the Divisional Police officer and his men for their pragmatic display of gallantry and professional dexterity.
The CP urged them to sustain the tempo and assured members of the public that the Command will not relent in its efforts to ensure public safety.
