The Batta kingdom of Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State has thrown its weight behind the global advocacy for gender inclusion for accelerated development at all levels.

His Royal Majesty, the Hama Batta, Humon Alhamdu Gladstone Teneke ( DIYOSHIFATO ,TIKULO BATTA , KPANGGASHYE ) stated this while identifying and showing solidarity with women all over the world on the occasion of the International Women’s Day.

The monarch paid special tributes to women in Batta kingdom in particular and Nigeria at large for their strengths, resilience and enormous contributions to nation building.

The Royal father noted that women constituted critical mass of the nation’s population and applauded their unmeasurable contributions to the promotion of peaceful coexistence, enhancing family values and economic development.

Humon Alhamdu Gladstone Teneke appealed to Nigerians and stakeholders in development structures to reflect on the imperative of Gender inclusion and take deliberate steps to invest in women with a view to building a country that is gender responsive and inclusive.

In a statement by the spokesperson to the Humon Batta, Chief Ladi Bala, the Royal father used the occasion of the International Women’s Day to appeal to sons and daughters as well as traditional title holders of BATTA KINGDOM to, in the interest of societal transformation and development, invest in women in the areas of education and entrepreneur ventures in BATTA KINGDOM.

He particularly lamented the number of out of school children especially girls in the country describing it as worrisome and called for proactive steps to tackle it.

He said: “The issue around education should be tackled by all as a corporate responsibility to humanity, not government alone.”

The Royal father also noted with concern, the current hardship and economic challenges facing Nigeria and Nigerians, adding that it required input and support of all and sundry to overcome them.

He tasked youths, men and women to embrace farming and other agricultural activities to engender economic value addition and to serve as source of income thereby increasing their purchasing power and food security.
