The Africa Economic Forum (AEF) has appointed a Nigeria, Dr Femi Salami as Executive Board Member and Chair of the Africa Mining and Minerals Forum.
AEF announced the appointment in a statement on their official social media page, on Thursday.
They described Salami as a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the mining and minerals sector.
The forum said Salami’s appointment comes as mining and minerals assume greater importance in Africa’s industrial and geopolitical development.
It noted that Salami brings strategic leadership, sector expertise and institutional depth to support the organisation’s objectives.
According to AEF, the appointment will strengthen its mission of fostering collaboration among governments, investors, operators and strategic partners.
The forum said the goal was to unlock bankable opportunities, promote credible execution and drive long-term value creation across the continent.
AEF said the Africa mining and minerals forum would serve as a key pillar in advancing dialogue and partnerships within the sector.
It added that the platform would focus on one of Africa’s most strategically important industries.
The forum also expressed confidence that Salami would contribute significantly to its vision of promoting capital mobilisation, strategic partnerships and economic transformation across Africa.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the AEF was a non profit international organisation that seeks to establish a co-creative approach to drive the transformation of the African Economy.
It operates though improved Public Private Partnership (PPP) as a basis of the transformation and improved participation of Africa in the global economy.
With a view to uplifting the living standard of Africans and providing openings for African businesses to thrive at international levels.
