
On December 4, 2025, Ambassador Yu Dunhai, the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria and to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), met with ECOWAS Commission President H.E. Dr. Omar Alieu Touray.
Ambassador Yu presented a China-made vehicle to President Touray for use in his official duties.

Ambassador Yu stated that over the past 50 years since its establishment, ECOWAS has played a significant role in promoting regional integration, maintaining peace and stability, and advancing democratic governance in West Africa, making it the most influential sub-regional organization in Africa.
The relationship between China and ECOWAS serves as a model of South-South cooperation and a vivid reflection of China-Africa friendship.
